Support the Arthritis Foundation by volunteering at the 21st Annual Red & White on Thursday Night, presented by Cleveland Clinic Akron General. Red & White on Thursday Night is Akron’s premier wine and food event. Nearly 800 attendees will enjoy delicious dishes from Akron’s top chefs, craft beer tastings, a variety of domestic and international wines, silent and live auctions and more! The event is 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Quaker Station, University of Akron, 135 S Broadway St. Volunteer times vary.

Network After Work! at 91.3 The Summit on Jan. 18

Network After Work! at 91.3 The Summit. Listen to live music in the Summit's Studio C, tour the studios, and network with fellow Akron business professionals. Enjoy live music from the Vindy's in Studio C and Marc Lee Shannon in the Summit Atrium. Food provided by Totally Cooked Catering, and beverages provided by NORKA Beverage. Both food and drink provided courtesy of Totally Cooked Catering. This is a free event, but you must register to attend. Doors open at 4:30 pm, with program and networking from 5 to 7 pm.

Skye Forney Scholarship Foundation Presents Beyond Vision Conference on Feb. 10

Our Beyond Vision Program allocates visual aid equipment to blind and low vision individuals. Raising Public Awareness to the daily achievements of people whom are visually impaired. We work to create a base of support for community groups forming an alliance to provide and dramatically accelerate development in visually impaired awareness. The foundation will be introducing the Beyond Vision Performing Arts Academy.
 
Our Beyond Vision Conference features speaker Pastor Donald N. Mayes, Jr., and guest gospel recording artist, J-West, Texas.

The annual Nation’s Baseball 2015 Ohio State Championship Tournament will be held on the weekend of June 18-21, 2015, in the Akron/Canton, Ohio area.  Every year over 70 teams of all age groups enter the tournament causing it to be one of the most coveted and popular tournaments in Ohio.

Pro Football Hall of Fame Asks for Your Vote!

The Pro Football Hall of Fame has advanced in the Cleveland.com contest for Ohio’s Top Tourist Attraction. The Women’s Network of NE Ohio has developed the “EMPOWER! Women’s Entrepreneurship Mastery Program” to help women achieve their dreams of becoming successful business owners. The 3-part program will cover the following topics: starting a business, growing a business, and managing operations and risk. Sessions will be led by experienced women entrepreneurs and other community business experts. Deadline for Series One is Thursday, April 30, 2015. Event: County Councilwoman Paula Prentice to Host 2nd Annual Let's Move Summit County Health Walk in Downtown Akron

On Saturday, April 25, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Summit County Council Member Paula Prentice (District 8) will host the 2nd Annual “Let’s Move Summit County!” Health Walk in downtown Akron.  Open to the public, walkers will follow a 2.7 mile route that begins and ends at Canal Park, home of the Akron RubberDucks.  There is an $8 registration fee ($10 after April 13th) for this event which includes a ticket to the RubberDucks baseball game at 2 p.m. vs. the Bowie Baysox.  In addition, the first 500 registered walkers will receive a drawstring sportpack “Goodie Bag” for the walk, a route map card that can be validated for a prize drawing and a wristband that will give them FREE admission to the Akron Art Museum.  The first 1,000 fans in attendance at the game will also receive Webster mascot “bobbleheads” from the Akron RubberDucks.  Summit County employees can earn 350 Vitality points for participating.  Registration/Check-in begins at 10 a.m. and the walk will start at 11 a.m.

Corner Cup Coffeehouse is celebrating its grand opening on Tuesday, March 10, 2015.  A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 4:00 p.m.  Come in all day for $1 drinks.  Stop by thoughout the following weekend for special events and give-aways.

The Victim Assistance Program's Mardi Gras Gala will take place at the Tangier on March 7, 2015, from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Tickets are $95 per person and include open bar, hors d'oeuvres, a sit down dinner, silent and live auctions, and live entertainment by Get On Up!
