Summit County to Hold "Can Do!" Dog Licensing Program at Five ACME Fresh Market Locations on June 24

Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro and Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen Scalise will partner with Acme Fresh Markets to host “Can Do!” – a one-day event to provide amnesty to Summit County dog owners who have not yet purchased their 2017 dog licenses. During the event, dog owners who failed to renew their dog’s license will have their $18 late-fee waived by donating a can of dog food to the Summit County Division of Animal Control.
 
From 10 a.m.-2 p.m., dog owners can take advantage of the Can Do! program at the following Acme Fresh Market stores: Acme #1- 1835 W. Market St., State Road Acme- 2226 State Rd., Tallmadge Acme- 600 South Ave., Stow Acme- 4445 Kent Rd., and Portage Lakes Acme- 3235 Manchester Rd. Dog owners wishing to participate in the event should bring cash or check in the amount of $18.00 for the license fee, and at least one can of dog food in lieu of the additional $18.00 late fee. Owners with multiple dogs should bring the license fee and a can of dog food for each unlicensed dog.
