2nd Annual Merry Mingle on Nov. 30


A  collaborative social event with AAF-Akron, AMA, NEO, NSME, NEOCC, and PRSA, this second annual holiday charity networking event benefits YEPAW (Youth Excellence Performing Arts Workshop).  $10 cover charge. There will be a cash bar, food stations, themed basket silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle.  6:00 p.m. YEPAW performance; 7:30 p.m. Raffle winners announced.  YEPAW uses the arts to engage middle and high school urban youth in activities that provide positive options for developing their talents, skills, and self-esteem.

Historical Homes Holiday Tour


The Akron Woman’s City Club (AWCC) and The Summit County Historical Society present a holiday tour of their three decorated mansions (Gray Lodge, the Perkins Mansion, and the John Brown Home).  Admission is by timed-ticket only.  Tickets must be purchased in November, in person at the Akron Woman’s City Club, 732 W. Exchange St. or online at www.summithistory.org. Ticket numbers are limited.  The cost is $35 which includes a buffet lunch at AWCC, tours of the mansions, and trolley rides between locations. Copper Creek Apartments' Wine & Cheese Tasting

Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park Job Fair


Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park will hold a job fair, 10am – 6pm, Tuesday, Nov. 29, to recruit  new talented rock stars to fill a variety of positions at the Rocksino.

$1 Million Renovation Set for Window World

No Muffin Left Behind Sale


The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank and Main Street Gourmet have teamed up again and will holding this year's No Muffin Left Behind Sale this Saturday, November 5!  Main Street Muffin  gets the chance to clean out its freezer and No Muffin Left Behind shoppers can stock up their freezer and the Foodbank gets all the leftovers and a portion of the proceeds.

All of Main Street Gourmet’s slightly off-spec and frozen bakery products will be sold at $1.25 per pound with a portion of the proceeds and all unsold products going directly to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.  Items available could include cookie dough, muffin batter, granola, brownies.  The sale is first-come, first-served.  Cash, checks and major credit cards will be accepted (but not debit cards).

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Western Reserve Hosts the 2017 Aspire! Signature Event on March 25


To raise money for programs that reach more than 900 children each year, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Western Reserve (BGCWR) is holding its signature Aspire! Auction and Dinner.  Guests will enjoy a festive evening including dinner, live and silent auctions, the famous “Dessert Dash” and “Mission Possible,” with all proceeds from the event to support BGCWR.   The cost for the event is $100 per ticket or $250 for a Patron reservation, which includes entry to the VIP Pre-Party and listing in the event program.   This year’s live auction includes several exciting items, including a 7-day stay at Chautauqua Lake Cabin in the Woods, plus other extraordinary experiences.

6th Annual Mixed Paper Drive is Underway in Akron schools for America Recycles Day!


To help celebrate America Recycles Day on November 15, 2016, Keep Akron Beautiful (KAB), in conjunction with the River Valley Paper Company, is hosting the 6th annual mixed paper drive competition in 23 Akron Public Schools and 6 private schools in the Akron area. During this month-long competition from October 17– November 11, 2016, community residents and local businesses can help make one of these schools a local and national winner by taking their magazines, phone books, paperboard, catalogs, junk mail, office paper, newspaper and cardboard to a recycle bin.
