2nd Annual Merry Mingle on Nov. 30


A  collaborative social event with AAF-Akron, AMA, NEO, NSME, NEOCC, and PRSA, this second annual holiday charity networking event benefits YEPAW (Youth Excellence Performing Arts Workshop).  $10 cover charge. There will be a cash bar, food stations, themed basket silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle.  6:00 p.m. YEPAW performance; 7:30 p.m. Raffle winners announced.  YEPAW uses the arts to engage middle and high school urban youth in activities that provide positive options for developing their talents, skills, and self-esteem.

Catholic Charities Community Services of Summit County


A WIN for a great cause at the PLACE for a great SHOW

Derby for Dollars, a Kentucky Derby-themed evening to benefit Catholic Charities includes great food, derby activities, raffles, and much more. Father Leo Patalinghug, celebrity chef for the event, is the founder of Grace Before Meals, an internationally-renowned conference speaker, author, and radio host.  Fr. 2nd Annual Blue Heron Homecoming


Akron Waterways Renewed!

The City of Akron will host the 2nd Annual Blue Heron Homecoming on May 7.  There will be numerous educational booths and interactive displays, free lunch, plant tours and a look at the event namesake, the Great Blue Heron.

Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park Launches New Brand Campaign "Find Your Rythm"


There’s a vibe at Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park.  It’s the rush and roar of excitement of everything the award-winning property has to offer.  With a call to “Find Your Rhythm,” the Rocksino’s new branding campaign, invites guests to experience a variety of award-winning gaming, dining, and entertainment amenities.
The “Find Your Rhythm” campaign marks the Rocksino’s first brand campaign to launch since the venue opened in December, 2013.  The new campaign will highlight the variety of authentic experiences at the Rocksino.   Birtha further explains that in the television commercials, “’Find Your Rhythm is brought to life by highlight exciting scenes of fine-dining at Kosar’s Wood-Fired Grill, incredible live music in our 1,800-seat concert hall, and the thrill of winning on our gaming floor on any of our 2,278 games.”

Steve Miller Band, June 17, 2016 at 8pm
Steve Miller has been voted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  The multifaceted songwriter, singer, guitarist, producer will be inducted after being nominated for the first time this year. Miller will join fellow inductees at the 2016 induction ceremony, scheduled for April 8th, 2016.  Miller was a mainstay of the San Francisco music scene that upended American culture in the late '60s. Paintnite Fundraiser to Benefit EMERGE's Little Hearts Fund


Our 1st Paintnite Fundraiser on Wednesday, April 27 from 6-8pm in the EMERGE Learning Center, 900 Mull Ave. in Akron. The cost is $45 with a portion of the proceeds supporting mental health care services for children. Snacks and beverages will be provided throughout the evening. No prior artistic talent needed. Portage-Summit Diaper Bank Plans Fundraisers for 2016


Portage-Summit Diaper Bank has three terrific fundraisers planned in 2016. This helps us to purchase the diapers we don't receive through donations.
