Scene75 Entertainment is Available for Holiday Parties


Scene75 Cleveland's 80,000 square-foot venue features a full-service restaurant, two bars, an indoor electric go-kart track, a two-story laser tag arena, 18 holes of black-light miniature golf, more than 110 video and prize redemption arcade games, six mini-bowling lanes within a boutique lounge, bumper cars, a 4-D theater complete with motion seating and special effects, a bouncing inflatable arena, a laser maze, several private party and banquet rooms for birthday parties and corporate events, a concession stand, and more. 2nd Annual Merry Mingle on Nov. 30


A  collaborative social event with AAF-Akron, AMA, NEO, NSME, NEOCC, and PRSA, this second annual holiday charity networking event benefits YEPAW (Youth Excellence Performing Arts Workshop).  $10 cover charge. There will be a cash bar, food stations, themed basket silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle.  6:00 p.m. YEPAW performance; 7:30 p.m. Raffle winners announced.  YEPAW uses the arts to engage middle and high school urban youth in activities that provide positive options for developing their talents, skills, and self-esteem.

Event: 19th Annual Red & White on Thursday Night


Join the Arthritis Foundation for the 19th annual Red & White on Thursday Night presented by Akron General, a Cleveland Clinic affiliate, benefiting the Arthritis Foundation. Event: NSME Monthly Meeting on December 8, 2015


Begin the Holiday Season with a fun evening of networking.  Please join the National Sales & Marketing Executives for their next monthly meeting December 8th from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thirsty Dog Brewery located at 529 Grant Street in Akron. Admission to this event is $35 and an unwrapped new toy that will be donated to Toys for Tots.

2016 Dog Licenses Go On Sale December 1st


Does your holiday gift giving list include the family dog?  If so, why not buy the best gift ever?  A shiny new 2016 dog license tag to adorn your dog’s collar!  It’s a gift that may help your pet return home if they are ever lost.

2016 Summit County Dog Licenses are available for purchase beginning December 1, 2015 through January 31, 2016. The cost for a single year license is $18.00, a three-year license is $54.00 and a permanent license is $180.00.  Kennel owners must also renew their licenses during the same time period; the cost is $80 per license. Licenses for dogs providing assistance to citizens with disabilities are free of charge and valid throughout the duration of the animal's life.  Proof of training must be submitted.

Rubber City Sports Group to Operate Akron’s Historic East End Gymnasium (formerly Goodyear Hall)


Greater Akron—The newly formed Rubber City Sports Group will manage and operate the 20,000 sq/ft Goodyear Hall gymnasium. The facility will be open to renters and event hosts from other outside organizations. Any organization is welcome to connect with us regarding a tour of the space and rental information for tournaments, training sessions or games. Event: Painting With a Twist Akron-Fairlawn Grand Opening


On Thursday, November 19, from 5:00 - 10:00 p.m., Painting With a Twist Akron-Fairlawn will host a grand opening at 2890 Sand Run Parkway, Suite C, Fairlawn, Ohio 44333.  There will be hors d'oeuvres and refreshments from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m., a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m., and a a complimentary painting class* from  7:00 - 9:00 p.m.  RVSP via e-mail to [email protected] or call (330) 867-7928 by November 16 to reserve your spot.  Seating is limited.  All guests are invited to meet the artists and view the studio.  Prizes will be given.  Must be present to win.

Kleidon Paintings On Exhibit at Greater Akron Chamber Gallery


The Greater Akron Chamber is pleased to announce an exhibition of recent paintings by Dennis Kleidon, October 13th through December 31st. The exhibit will be in the gallery area of the Chamber office on the 17th floor of 1 Cascade Plaza in downtown Akron. Caregivers Support Group Meetings


Catholic Charities Summit Adult Day Services facilitates a monthly Caregiver Support Group for those who face the challenges of ongoing care of older adults. The group offers education and support to care-givers in managing their own health and wellness while meeting the needs of their loved ones. Free care is provided for seniors while caregivers attend group meetings. Join us from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on the last Wednesday of each month. Form more information, call (330) 762-2000.
