Scene75 Entertainment is Available for Holiday Parties

Scene75 Cleveland's 80,000 square-foot venue features a full-service restaurant, two bars, an indoor electric go-kart track, a two-story laser tag arena, 18 holes of black-light miniature golf, more than 110 video and prize redemption arcade games, six mini-bowling lanes within a boutique lounge, bumper cars, a 4-D theater complete with motion seating and special effects, a bouncing inflatable arena, a laser maze, several private party and banquet rooms for birthday parties and corporate events, a concession stand, and more. Scene75 is known for having the best parties and private events and we look forward to earning that title in Cleveland as well! 2nd Annual Merry Mingle on Nov. 30

A  collaborative social event with AAF-Akron, AMA, NEO, NSME, NEOCC, and PRSA, this second annual holiday charity networking event benefits YEPAW (Youth Excellence Performing Arts Workshop).  $10 cover charge. There will be a cash bar, food stations, themed basket silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle.  6:00 p.m. YEPAW performance; 7:30 p.m. Raffle winners announced.  YEPAW uses the arts to engage middle and high school urban youth in activities that provide positive options for developing their talents, skills, and self-esteem.

Event: County Councilwoman Paula Prentice to Host 2nd Annual Let's Move Summit County Health Walk in Downtown Akron

On Saturday, April 25, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Summit County Council Member Paula Prentice (District 8) will host the 2nd Annual “Let’s Move Summit County!” Health Walk in downtown Akron.  Open to the public, walkers will follow a 2.7 mile route that begins and ends at Canal Park, home of the Akron RubberDucks.  There is an $8 registration fee ($10 after April 13th) for this event which includes a ticket to the RubberDucks baseball game at 2 p.m. vs. the Bowie Baysox.  In addition, the first 500 registered walkers will receive a drawstring sportpack “Goodie Bag” for the walk, a route map card that can be validated for a prize drawing and a wristband that will give them FREE admission to the Akron Art Museum.  The first 1,000 fans in attendance at the game will also receive Webster mascot “bobbleheads” from the Akron RubberDucks.  Summit County employees can earn 350 Vitality points for participating.  Registration/Check-in begins at 10 a.m. and the walk will start at 11 a.m.

GreenTown at Kent brings together the public and private sectors from around Ohio to connect the dots and work toward creating healthy, sustainable communities. Experience the reborn downtown Kent, learn how to create walkable, bikeable communities, and delve into topics including clean water, local food, outdoor space, and creating socially responsible businesses. Join us for pre-conference workshops and activities on April 13, and the main event on April 14, in downtown Kent.

Event: Corner Cup Coffeehouse Grand Opening

Corner Cup Coffeehouse is celebrating its grand opening on Tuesday, March 10, 2015.  A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 4:00 p.m.  Come in all day for $1 drinks.  Stop by thoughout the following weekend for special events and give-aways.

The Victim Assistance Program's Mardi Gras Gala will take place at the Tangier on March 7, 2015, from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Tickets are $95 per person and include open bar, hors d'oeuvres, a sit down dinner, silent and live auctions, and live entertainment by Get On Up!

Event: Annual Monte Carlo Night Fundraiser

Catholic Charities Monte Carlo Night Fundraiser to benefit Community Hot Meals, Food Pantry and Emergency Assistance programs will take place on Saturday, March 14th from 6 to 11 p.m. at St. George Family Center in Fairlawn. Tickets are $85 per person and include open bar, heavy hors d'oeuvres, Vegas style games, mini reverse raffle, live entertainment, silent and oral auctions. Certified Nerds Named Business of the Month by City of Munroe Falls

Greater AkronCertified Nerds has been selected as the Business of the Month by the City of Munroe Falls. Mayor Frank Larson presented Certified Nerds with a certificate and plaque at the Town Council meeting held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at City Hall in Munroe Falls.

Event: OPEN M Announces 1st Annual Walk & 5K Run On the Ohio Erie Canal Towpath

OPEN M, an Akron-based, inner-city, faith based mission; will hold its first annual Walk & 5K Run fundraiser on Saturday, April 25th on the Ohio Erie Canal Towpath behind the Spaghetti Warehouse restaurant located at 510 S. Main Street, Akron, 44311. About 300 walkers and runners will convene at the starting point behind Spaghetti Warehouse ending at the OPEN M Neighborhood Center located at 941 Princeton St., Akron, 44311.  The goal is to raise $25,000 to support the overall OPEN M mission.  Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. with the walkers starting promptly at 9:00 a.m. and runners beginning at 9:15 a.m.
