Event: Leagues of Akron, Hudson, Kent and Tallmadge Invite Young Voters to Give Yourself a Voice...Vote


Join The League of Women Voters chapters of Akron, Hudson, Kent and Tallmadge for a casual event at The Barley House in downtown Akron. We invite young voters throughout Northeast Ohio to give yourself a voice, and learn why you should vote. We will also register voters at the event.  The event is timed to celebrate Constitution Day, and will feature Mary Margaret Rowlands, Judge, Court of Common Pleas; Turner Anderson, a graduate student from The University of Akron; and a speaker from The Bliss Institute.

The program is free and open to the public, and will be held at The Barley House, 222 South Main Street, Akron, Ohio on Thursday, September 17, 2015, from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Refreshments and pizza will be provided, and free parking is available in the adjacent deck.

Event: The Impact of Marijuana Legalization on Business & the Workforce of the Future


Summit County Community Partnership is hosting a workshop on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, from 8:00 - 10:30 a.m. on the impact of marijuana legalization on businesses and future workforce. It will address common questions currently asked by both employers and their employees about marijuana and its possible legalization. Event: OPEN M Fire & Ice Celebration Fundraiser


To support programs and the overall mission of OPEN M, they are having a fundraiser on Friday, August 28, 2015, at Todaro’s Party Center from 6:00 -10:00 p.m. This exciting evening includes appetizers, dinner, cash bar and entertainment. Event: Building Brighter Futures Community Celebration


Play. Eat. Win. Fun for the whole family! Join Peoples Bank on Saturday, July 25, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. as we celebrate our community with a day of fun, games, give-aways, and a free lunch! All they ask is that you bring one non-perishable food item per person to to redeem your lunch. Collected food will be donated to a local foodbank. Get a photo taken with the Akron RubberDucks mascots, Webster and Orbit! Participating offices in Norton, Cuyahoga Falls, Munroe Falls, & North Hill Akron.
