Scene75 Entertainment is Available for Holiday Parties

Scene75 Cleveland's 80,000 square-foot venue features a full-service restaurant, two bars, an indoor electric go-kart track, a two-story laser tag arena, 18 holes of black-light miniature golf, more than 110 video and prize redemption arcade games, six mini-bowling lanes within a boutique lounge, bumper cars, a 4-D theater complete with motion seating and special effects, a bouncing inflatable arena, a laser maze, several private party and banquet rooms for birthday parties and corporate events, a concession stand, and more. Scene75 is known for having the best parties and private events and we look forward to earning that title in Cleveland as well! 2nd Annual Merry Mingle on Nov. 30

A  collaborative social event with AAF-Akron, AMA, NEO, NSME, NEOCC, and PRSA, this second annual holiday charity networking event benefits YEPAW (Youth Excellence Performing Arts Workshop).  $10 cover charge. There will be a cash bar, food stations, themed basket silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle.  6:00 p.m. YEPAW performance; 7:30 p.m. Raffle winners announced.  YEPAW uses the arts to engage middle and high school urban youth in activities that provide positive options for developing their talents, skills, and self-esteem.

Direction Home Akron Canton Area Agency on Aging & Disabilities Announces Applications for Joseph L. Ruby Scholarship are Now Open

Each year, Direction Home Akron Canton offers at least one scholarship stipend of $5,000 or more to one college student studying in the field of gerontology, social work, health and human services, nursing, or a related social services field to assist students in covering the costs of academic expenses. The Joseph L. Ruby Student Scholarship recognizes students with a vested interest in the long-term care of older adults and persons with disabilities.

Hale Farm & Village "Hale Harvest 5k" on October 7

The 5K loop course invites runners and walkers to experience the natural beauty of Hale Farm & Village as they run along nature trails through the sugar bush, past historic houses, and across farmyards, rural pastures, and creek crossings. • Participants receive Hale Run T-shirts. • Race participants receive free admission to the Harvest Festival on the day of the race.

Akron Temp Staffing Vets See Positive Effects of EOM Campaign with Clients, Employees

With 6 months of Akron temp agency Flex-Team’s Employee of the Month program under its belt, the temp staffing firm is seeing positive outcomes from the effort to increase worker quality. “Each month, clients are calling us/emailing us to nominate great workers before we can even reach-out for feedback," explains Flex-Team President Rick Pollock. "Several of our EOMs have been hired permanently by the companies where they were assigned. That really makes us feel proud here.”

Greater Akron Chamber Day at the Races on August 12

This is an all-ages event.  There will be live racing at 1:40 p.m. post time; family entertainment of balloon artists, face painters, and bounce houses; live music during and after live racing; lawn games of cornhole, giant tic-tac-toe, lawn pong, and giant Connect Four; and food trucks. Sequoia Wellness at NEOMED Hosts Free Melanoma Education Workshop
