Akron Public Schools' STEM Middle School Honored in Washington

Greater Akron—The National Inventors Hall of Fame (NIHF) Center for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Learning was among eight schools honored nationally for its efforts to integrate the arts into STEM programs.

The Ovation Foundation, the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (PCAH) and Americans for the Arts (AFTA), in cooperation with the Congressional STEAM Caucus, honored the Akron Public Schools’ middle school with an innOVATION STEAM Grant Award. The awards were given to public school programs in an effort to raise awareness about the importance of the arts in the STEM curriculum.
