The annual National Sales & Marketing Executives (NSME) “Accent on Excellence” awards program in the greater Akron/Canton region recognizes the Executive of the Year, the Outstanding Community Leader, multiple “Achievements in Excellence” awards recipients and the Exceptional Sales and Marketing Collegiate Recipient.  Click here to see the recipients.
 
These honorees have demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism during their careers in diverse sales and marketing roles. Winners are selected by NSME leaders, based on nominations from local professionals, questionnaire responses provided by the nominees and publicly available information. Community foundation, Direction Home partnership addresses rapidly growing aging adult population

Direction Home Akron Canton Area Agency on Aging & Disabilities will receive a grant of up to $200,000 from the Akron Community Foundation to create a coalition to meeting needs of Summit County's growing senior population. The first step of the project is the coordination of a needs assessment to gauge pressing issues. In addition, several organizations are working together on a shared process to coordinate the intake of Summit County seniors requesting services.

Habitat for Humanity of Summit County's 19th Annual Hudson Firecracker 5K on July 4

Kickoff Independence Day with a Hudson tradition that's fun for the whole family! Run the 5K or 1Mile Kids Run on July 4 at Hudson Park Estates Pool Pavilion on Blue Heron Drive in Hudson. Proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity of Summit County. 8:30 AM KIDS RUN: $10 8:45 AM 5K: $20.  Race-day registration & packet pick-up begins at 7 AM. Open Arms Adoptions' July Lottery Fundraiser

For a $5 donation, supporters will have the chance to win anywhere from $25 to $100 every day in July. The fundraiser will be based on the Ohio Lottery nightly Pick 3 drawing. if your ticket number is picked, you will win the prize for the day.
