Akron Places in Top 10 in Site Selection

Selection Magazine, one of the nation’s leading location assistance publications, has recognized the Akron metro area as a leader in new and expanded corporate facilities. Site Selection’s yearly analyses are regarded as “the industry scoreboard.”

Akron ranked ninth in new and expanded facilities in metros with a population of 200,000 to 1 million. This is the sixth time that Akron has made the top-ten list in the last nine years.  President and CEO of the Greater Akron Chamber Dan Colantone stated, “The Akron Region’s successes are a testament to the vision, fortitude and hard work of strong regional partnerships and reflect the Chamber’s priorities of economic development, public policy and member service.”

Ohio placed second with 517 projects for 2015 in the traditional Governor’s Cup facilities race, which was based on the number of projects.

Governor’s Cup results are tracked by Conway Data Inc.’s New Plant Database. Conway Data publishes Site Selection, the senior publication in the corporate real estate and economic development field, and the official publication of the Industrial Asset Management Council (IAMC).
