Join us on Friday, September 7, 2018 to hear Grace Wakulchik, President of Akron Children's Hospital, lead a panel discussion with several of her female colleagues.  Panelists include:
 

Lisa Aurilio
lisa.jpgLisa Aurilio, MSN, MBA, RN, NEA-BC is the Chief Operating Officer at Akron Children’s Hospital.  She oversees Professional and Support Services, the Department of Pediatrics, Patient Services, the Center for Operations Excellence, Surgical Sub-Specialty Practices and the Mahoning Valley enterprises. Prior to this role, Lisa served as the Vice President of Patient Services and Chief Nursing Officer. Lisa earned her Bachelor’s degree and Master of Science from the Kent State College of Nursing and her Master of Business Administration in the Kent State University’s Executive HealthCare MBA program.  Lisa was awarded the 2016 Diversity in Nursing Award from Modern Healthcare.

Lisa is a graduate of Leadership Akron’s Class XXX.  Lisa is active in the community serving as President of the Board for Children’s Home Care Group and as a member of the Stark State Akron Campus President’ Advisory Board, Kent State University’s National Alumni Board and Boys and Girls Club of Western Reserve Board. 


Kinshasha “Shai” Hawkins

Kinshasha “Shai” Hawkins, MA is Director of Access Solutions at Akron Children’s Hospital.  She began her role in December, 2016 and is responsible for assisting the organization in streamlining access solutions as well as centralizing outpatient scheduling for ambulatory services in the Department of Pediatrics and Surgical Sub-Specialty Practices. This project which began with the opening of Akron Children’s Appointment Center in June of 2017.

Shai has had the opportunity to speak at HIMSS National Healthcare Innovation Summit’s Innovation Gallery in 2014, alongside Julie Choo, Chief Product Officer of Kyruus, as well as a featured article in Healthcare Call Center Times.


Teresa Volsko

Teresa Volsko, MBA, MHHS, RRT, CMTE, FAARC currently serves as the Director for Respiratory Care, Transport, The Communication Center and Interim Director for the Rebecca D Considine Research Institute at Akron Children’s Hospital, Akron, Ohio.
 
Terry is an invited speaker nationally and internationally on critical care, air and ground medical transport and leadership topics. She authored more than 3 dozen peer-reviewed manuscripts, 2 dozen book chapters and 2 textbooks.
 
Terry is active professionally on several national committees and national boards including the Board of Trustees for the National Board for Respiratory Care, The Board of Directors for Lambda Beta Honor Society, The Board of Trustees for the American Respiratory Care Foundation, and the Editorial Board for Respiratory Care Journal. Locally, she serves on the Board of Directors for Emmanuel Community Care Center


Grace Wakulchik

Grace Wakulchik currently serves as the President at Akron Children’s Hospital, Akron, Ohio. She oversees Medical Staff, Operations, Information Services and Business Development. In her previous role as Chief Operating Office she was over Information Services, Professional and Support Services, the Department of Pediatrics, Patient Services, the Center for Operations Excellence, Surgical Sub-Specialty Practices and the Mahoning Valley enterprises. She led the construction of the new Kay Jeweler Pavilion using Integrated Lean Project Delivery and the ActNow! access improvement project at Children’s. Grace led the organization to a successful designation as a Magnet facility in 2007 as the CNO. She has worked at Akron Children’s for over twenty-five years.

Grace serves on the Board of the Development Finance Authority (Vice President), The Akron Regional Hospital Association (Vice President), The Blue Ribbon Committee for the City of Akron, The President of The Board of Directors for Children’s Home Care Group, The Chair of “Go Red for Women” Board and has served as an appraiser for the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program since 2007. She is committed to excellence in the delivery of family centered patient care.
